Blending beauty and functionality

12th Mar 2012

Livelink-designed and Drupal-powered, frenchaffaires.co.uk is displaying that certain je ne sais quoi that’s getting it noticed.

Proving that beautiful can still be functional, Livelink client French Affaires’ website is demonstrative of the power of a Drupal-powered engine behind a new ecommerce brand.

The boutique lingerie store has been put forward for best marketplace website built with Drupal at the forthcoming Blue Drop Awards - set to take place at this month’s DrupalCon in Denver (March 19-23).

A new platform for ecommerce

Built on the latest Drupal 7 platform, using Drupal Commerce, French Affaires offers customers new methods of browsing that make choosing their products easy, intuitive and personal. The ‘lingerie set’ view, for example, helps to match products, simplifying the buying process – a tool especially useful for those of us who find themselves a little out of their comfort zone when left in the underwear department.

Developer Mark Jones said that the Drupal Commerce framework behind French Affaires is helping to drive its success: “The easy-to-use stock management facilities allow site administrators to keep track of the complicated relationships between products, sizes, colours and collections through a single, consistent interface.”

“The customisable nature of means that customers can both buy and use the customisable gift vouchers of different values with physical products and still have a simple and pleasant buying experience,” he explained.

French Affaires director Lynne (who admits to being a bit of a perfectionist!) said she is “delighted that the website has been built with the functions, staying true to my design”.

Mark learnt a thing or two about lingerie during the building process and after all his dedicated work, he can now consider himself something of an expert. As Lynne says, “he certainly won’t be needing the guide for men!”
